The first portable computer was made in 1981 and since then, laptops have become normal. after that time every body demand laptop because it become necessity of every person Laptops have become smaller, more powerful and less in weight over the years and have risen in popularity due to the relatively inexpensive price tags.Laptops have a few classifications such as budget, gaming, and subnotebook and so on. Subnotebooks are laptops designed around portability. They are extremely light weight, very small and they have a very long battery life about three hours or more then this. Budget laptops offers several features but the reason they are considered budget is because the build quality and most importantly, does not have the fastest and most advanced technologies in them. Companies provide what they feel is adequate equipment needed to justify what there intended market is looking for.
Gaming laptops:
These are more powerful then traditional laptops and its demand is more then other laptops because it is more powerful and efficient and every game can easily run on this type of laptop because it has more ram and processor or more powerful then other laptops are considered to be the high end of laptops.

Laptops offer everything that a regular desktop pc provides. Due to this fact, more laptops are being purchased rather then full desktop pc. Laptops have their advantages and disadvantages. The biggest advantage for the laptop over a desktop pc is its portability as being able to bring your computer anywhere you'd like is a major plus for many people who are on the go. The disadvantage for laptops is that they can quickly become outdated and upgrading features on your laptop for the most part is non existent. Also, since laptops are so small, most features of the laptop are integrated right into the motherboard of the laptop so if one part fails such as a network card or your integrated video card, you need to replace the entire motherboard which can become very costly. A desktop pc's major advantage is the fact that its easily upgradeable as parts can easily be removed and replaced with different parts in case a product becomes outdated or no longer works. Also, desktop Pc’s are for the most part much faster then most laptops on the market. The major downfall for desktop pc is the strength of the laptop, portability.

Is a laptop right for you? Well it all depends on your life style. Are you a gamer? Are you constantly on the go? Are you a casual pc user who never plays games but just surfs the World Wide Web, does homework and types documents? If you are a gamer or need excessive processing power for certain work like graphic designing or video editing, a desktop pc would be best for you. If you are constantly on the go or are just using the a computer for general use from time to time then absolutely go with a laptop.

Toshiba Celebrating 25th Anniversary of the T1100 Laptop with Social Media-Based Contests

Toshiba's Digital Products Division has just announced a series of promotions for celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the world's first mass-market consumer laptop computer , namely the Toshiba T1100. As a celebration, the company is launching a series of interactive social media contests that invite fans to be creative with Toshiba laptops past and future, for the chance of wining the best Toshiba laptops, which are currently available, as well as cash prizes.

"The Satellite T1100 was the start of a revolution in consumer mobile computing, and we've built on that first with many product innovations since 1985," said Ron Smith, vice president of marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. "Twenty-five innovative years can only be recognized with 25 prizes for 25 lucky Toshiba fans."

Since this is the 25th anniversary, the manufacturer intends to honor the milestone with 25
prizes for technology enthusiasts, to be won on the popular social network sites, in the following months.

The very first contest recently launched, named "Quest for the Oldest Toshiba Laptop," on
the Toshiba Facebook Fan page, with participants having to use their Toshiba laptops as the subject of videos or photos, for submission. The winner will be either that who has the oldest Toshiba laptop, or one that is most creative with the content. What is sure is that the prizes include $1,500 cash, and the Toshiba Satellite E205 with Intel Wireless Display or the powerful Qosmio X505.

Now, that is something, knowing that the T1100 laptop was an important milestone, and the
fact that it was introduced one year before I was even born. That sure gives me perspective on time, and how Toshiba contributed to what we are now very used to and maybe couldn't live without. Since then, this company has sold more than 30 million laptops, and continues to do so.
